Self Taught Gardener

Spring is near!!! A little over a week until it is officially the first day of spring. Leaves are starting to bloom. The birds are becoming more active. The weather is starting to warm up. I adore the spring and this year I have really started to focus on gardening.

I love to learn. With that being said, I had no idea gardening had so many components. I am by no means an expert, but I have learned so much since the start of the year (2021) and will continue to learn daily.

How am I learning and gaining knowledge?

  • Books

Around Christmas I started eyeing a book on Amazon and so glad I finally decided to order. This book is massive! Backyard Homesteading (over 600 pgs of goodness) It is filled with so much good information. It is 5 books in one: Creating a Garden, Preserving the Harvest, Making your Own, Raising Animals, and Building It Yourself. Each "book" is filled with informational chapters.

I look forward to adding to this list in the near future.

  • Networking:

Connect with like minded people on social media. I love following @axeandroothomestead and @wildoakfarms on Instagram. They are filled with knowledge. Lets be friends @lifeoflynds_

  • YouTube: Recently started watching Roots and Refuge Farm channel. I also follow her on Instagram and looking into her book.

  • Podcast: Not So Simple Life Podcast

I will continue to edit as I discover new avenues to learn what I love.
